glamorous wedding invitations

This week we're talking about invitations, which can either set the tone for your event or be a missed opportunity. Today I'm sharing with you one of my favorite gF originals. A dear friend of mine decided on the historic and very glamorous

Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

for her reception. Its rich history and opulent interiors definitely informed the whole event. The bride wore lace, the bridesmaids wore champagne, and the whole event felt very romantic, vintage and sophisticated. I like to think we succeeded in designing an invitation that would prepare guests for this special union!

Ambrie found a pocket fold envelope and paper she wanted to use from

. We found a bronze metallic ink to match her paper coupled with a soft pink to set the tone for her fabulous wedding. Here's the outside of the Envelopment, complete with a custom monogram.

A pocket fold made a great choice for this invitation suite, which included the invitation, detail and reception cards + a reply postcard. We printed the invitations on super luxe 130 lb 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Using offset lithography allowed us to get really true color and coverage.

We used really traditional type for the invitation, but the layout and light pink "E" motif kept it modern.

We designed a custom map for the ceremony and reception sites, including directions and addresses, which all appeared on the "details" card. Light pink covered the entire back of the reply postcard, which added a bit of color to an otherwise very neutral invitation.

I love picking my meal for a wedding, especially when there are detailed options! That's certainly one way to get guests excited about attending your wedding.

Happy 3rd anniversary, Ambrie and Tony. I can hardly believe it's been three years since we danced the night away at your wedding!
